Works with screen readers

Every control in Convertal is labelled for screen readers — VoiceOver on iPhone and iPad, and TalkBack on Android. Each element reads clearly: the unit selectors announce as “From unit” and “To unit” along with the current unit, the swap control says “Swap units”, and the two value boxes are named so you always know which one you’re in. Categories that are part of the paid upgrade are announced as “Convertal Pro”, and screen and section titles are marked as headings so you can move through the app quickly.

Voice control

Because every control has a clear name and a matching action, you can operate Convertal hands-free — with Voice Control on iPhone and iPad, or Voice Access on Android. Say “Tap Swap units”, “Tap Copy”, or use the numbered overlay to reach anything on screen by number.

Larger text

Convertal respects your system text-size setting, all the way up to the largest accessibility sizes — iOS’s Larger Text and Android’s font size both work. As text grows, the layout adapts with it: category chips, cards and results reflow so content stays readable and nothing is clipped or cut off. The logo is the only thing that stays a fixed size, as brand marks should.

Dark mode

Convertal includes full light and dark themes and follows your system appearance automatically on both platforms. If you’d rather pin it, choose System, Light or Dark in the app’s settings.

Higher contrast

On iPhone and iPad, turn on Increase Contrast in your accessibility settings and Convertal switches to a higher-contrast colour scheme, strengthening the separation between text, controls and their backgrounds.

Reduced motion

Convertal keeps on-screen motion to a minimum by design. When you switch on Reduce Motion (iOS) or Remove animations (Android) in your accessibility settings, screen transitions are removed entirely.

Clear without colour

Information is never conveyed by colour alone. The selected category shows a tick, upgrade-only categories show a padlock and a “Pro” label, input problems show a written message as well as a colour, and offline status shows an icon alongside its text — so nothing is lost if you don’t distinguish certain colours.
